Description:

The 9 Outermost Regions (OR) manage an exclusive economic zone of 2,5 million km², 10% of the EU EEZ. Their presence in 3 oceanic areas offers the E.U influence, resources and opportunities. Yet, research and innovation collaborations between mainland and outermost actors remain limited. Key questions (e.g. global ocean circulation, biodiversity hotspots, resilience to climate change, MSP) are thus under-investigated. This workshop aims to raise awareness on these basins and to design an action plan to intensify collaborations between European and Outermost R&I centres & neighboring countries.
