Precision Antibacterial Agents: Novel Therapies with Defined Mechanism of Action for Top Priority Bacterial Pathogens
Knowledge Transfer & International Projects at CiQUS - Center for Research in Biological Chemistry and Molecular Materials
Santiago de Compostela, Spain
About
We look for partners interested in:
- To develop new antibacterial agents against deadly pathogens (A. baumannii, P. aeruginosa and Enterobacteriaceae, in particular by employing combined therapies able to inhibit beta-lactamase enzymes.
- To explore new bacterial niches
- To identify the mechanism of action of novel drugs by computational studies.
We offer in-house library of beta-lactamase inhibitors:
- Very stable compounds, able to restore carbapenem activity [1,2]
- Combined therapies [1,2,3]
- Smart mechanism of action; validation by proteomics and ample in-silico studies [1,2]
- Active against difficult to treat pathogens expressing class D carbapenemases [1] and AmpC enzymes (chromosomal) [2]
- Active compounds against unexplored bacterial targets [4]
We offer extensive experience in:
- Drug design, mainly aimed at the treatment of infectious diseases (metalo- and serine-beta-lactamases, essential bacterial enzymes)
- Computational tools (molecular modeling, MD, QM/MM) and proteomics.
- Analyzing the Induced-fit plasticity of a large diversity of targets [5,6,7]
