About me
Antonio Javier Martínez Calahorro holds a PhD in Renewable Energy Engineering and has more than 25 years of experience in the energy efficiency, renewable energy and energy management sector. He is executive president of Grupo MARWEN CALSAN S.L., a company specialized in sustainability and energy efficiency projects.
Throughout his career, he has led international projects in countries such as Colombia, Morocco, Chile, Guatemala and Uruguay, advising public administrations, energy agencies and private companies in the implementation of innovative solutions. He has also worked in energy audits, environmental certifications and sustainable infrastructure development.
In the academic field, he is MBA Executive, Master in Energy Project Management and Lead Auditor in Energy Management Systems ISO 50001. He has played a key role as a trainer and professor in energy technology and sustainability at the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala and other institutions.
He is a member of the board of directors of the Spanish Association of Energy Efficiency Companies (A3E) and the Spanish Technological Platform for Energy Efficiency (PTE EE).
His experience ranges from the design of renewable energy facilities to the implementation of energy management systems and carbon footprint calculation. He has led projects in the public and private sector, including energy optimization plans, sustainable mobility and innovation in energy efficiency.
Committed to technological innovation, he has driven the development of digital solutions and advanced energy management systems, applying Big Data tools, artificial intelligence and real-time monitoring. In its growth strategy, it has opted for the creation of a Center for Innovation in Energy and Sustainability, where projects focused on digital transformation and optimization of energy resources in industrial and urban environments are developed.
It has also expanded its field of action to the defense and space sectors, exploring new opportunities for the application of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies in critical infrastructures. Its work in these sectors is oriented towards the integration of advanced energy management systems in military bases, aircraft and satellites, contributing to the reduction of the carbon footprint and the development of more resilient and sustainable solutions in strategic environments.
