Driving the adoption of the Swift Anchor, a self-drilling groutless anchor and cost effective site investigation for rock seabeds

About me

Having previously worked as a Helicopter Engineer in his early career, Michael has worked in the renewables industry for a decade in a variety of positions from front line offshore operations to General Management.  This has awarded a broad section of skills which have proved invaluable whilst forming part of the Senior Management team within SCHOTTEL Marine Technologies. Focusing now on Business Development which is Michael’s core skill, he is keen to release the full potential of floating offshore wind and other marine renewables to ensure his love of the oceans, something that he has sailed on extensively throughout his life remains for future generations.

SCHOTTEL Marine Technologies Ltd

SCHOTTEL Marine Technologies’ have designed and installed a suite of cost effective, rapidly deployable and environmentally sensitive groutless rock anchoring solutions, the Swift Anchor, for the marine energy sector. Using their own subsea tooling, installation is quick and efficient. It aims to deliver the world’s most efficient anchoring solution for rock for the floating offshore wind sector by using the inherent strength of the rock to resist mooring loads, therefore displacing large, un-environmentally friendly, expensive and seabed damaging concrete gravity anchors or drilled and grouted piles.
