As a chid, I would love climbing up the tallest trees to see everyone from above. Now, I am passionate about Planet Earth and the intelligent life down there.
Raised in a German and Spanish family, Juan likes speaking seven languages. Before retiring, he was President at International Space University (ISU) in Strasbourg (France).
He enjoys a family of three (adult) children and volunteers as lecturer, mentor, and organizer of trips to French Guiana and the Spaceport in Kourou.
Juan studied Mechanical and Industrial Engineering in Spain and Germany, Business Administration in the USA, and Interdisciplinary Space Studies in France.
He was a staff member of the European Space Agency (ESA) for over 30 years and was seconded to other organisations, including:
· Range Operations Manager (DDO) at the French Space Agency (CNES) in French Guiana.
· Space Studies Program Director at International Space University (ISU).
· Aerospace Technology Centre Director at CTAE in Barcelona.
· General Delegate at Community of Ariane Cities (CVA) in Paris.
· Head of Communications Office at ESA-ESTEC in Noordwijk.
My organisation
The International Space University develops the future leaders of the world space community. It provides interdisciplinary educational programs to students and space professionals in an international, intercultural environment.
