About

Over the years, we have seen remarkable advancements in servo control systems. The time-tested PID control method remains the backbone of servo systems, but a wide range of additional methods must be integrated and finely tuned to achieve optimal performance. Integrating various control methods to work seamlessly together and tuning dozens of parameters can prove extremely challenging due to the lack of a systematic approach. To address this challenge, we have developed a Control Platform for motion-control servo systems. This platform is based on Sliding Mode Control (SMC) theory and incorporates several other control methods in decoupled configurations, allowing different functions to be tuned independently without affecting the main control loop. Furthermore, a single gain is used to prescribe the final performance level while maintaining asymptotic stability and robustness. As a result, we have achieved exceptional performance levels in the field, with response times nearly 10 times faster than those of other popular, well-known servo systems.
