About me
Peter Bandas, B.Sc. P.Eng., was born in Prague, Czech Republic, where he attended Computer Science and math based Highschool (Gymnasium) and later a Master’s degree program in Electrical Engineering with focus on broadcasting. He escaped communist Czechoslovakia before graduating and after half a year in Austria came to Canada. There he attended University of Toronto, where he received his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering - with thesis in the field of Biomedical Engineering.
Peter spent 30 years in the private sector as an Engineering designer/ engineering team manager/ technology architect and business director. He supplied Software & Hardware and software solutions to tier one customers globally. His customers included UBS, Paramount Pictures, CBS 60 Minutes, BBC, Apple, Dell, HP, Sony, Toshiba, ASUS etc.
Peter sat on a number of global industry technology committees such as DVD-CCA, BDA and has also vast experience working with major global industry players and managing technical relationships with companies such as Apple, Microsoft, Intel, AMD, Dell, HP, Sony, Toshiba, ASUS, Paramount and many others.
With full product cycle experience bringing new disruptive technologies to global market, Peter is a high energy engineering leader with a passion for excellence & innovation. He has the ability to translate technically complex concepts into understandable business cases, costs, benefits & alternatives for board room debate. Moreover, he has proven ability to build strong, efficient, committed teams.
Peter spent most of his engineering career developing or managing development of software. He has significant expertise in the area of high-tech development and project management. His technology focus throughout his career was multimedia, broadcast, control system design, ASIC application, DRM and Cybertechnology. Peter has experience doing business internationally in Canada, US, Europe, Australia and Asia.
Peter spent the last 7 years at NRC IRAP where he provided advisory services and assessed SMEs for investment by Canadas biggest innovation funding organization. He joined IRAP International a year ago and manages programs under the European EUREKA program.”
