Fiber Optic Sensing

We are currently working on fiber optic based sensing technologies and developing novel optical interrogator systems which can turn the fiber optic cable itself to an array of virtual microphones to listen to the environment. This uniques capability based on manipulating the light in the fiber optic cable can be exploited for numerous security and safety related applications. Common applications include borderline, perimeter and pipeline secutity; structural health monitoring of civil structures (buildings, tunnels, bridges, etc.) and railway condition monitoring. (tracking trains, etc)
