About me

As coordinator of the Bruges Food Lab, I connect and empower a sustainable food network in Bruges. The Bruges Food Lab is the driving force behind initiatives and overarching projects that focus on the Bruges food strategy. Besides this I am a researcher in sustainable food (systems) at ArteveldeUAS. Here I focus on proteïn shift, and am on the lookout for proposals involving systems thinking, food environments, food policy, all in a practical, applied manner.

The experience I've gathered stretches out accross food systems with focus on: food forests, food security, food literacy, nudging, setting up short food chains, protein shift with children, restaurants, government policy, research, food environments and so on. In my current roles, this has made me an empathic connector and researcher able to look at a systems change-perspective, connecting dots.

As a kid, I wanted to become a chef because I was fascinated by my mother behind her stove every holiday or dinner party. This passion for cooking and experiencing food has always been the driving force of what I'm doing.

I am passionate about innovations that aim to facilitate a transition to a more sustainable vision of what our food systems should look like – more sustainable, equitable, ecological, social and resilient to the challenges they face.
