Prof. dr Tatjana Horvat
Dean, University of Primorska, Faculty of Management (Slovenia)
A distinguished academic leader with extensive experience in higher education, research management, and international cooperation. Through strategic leadership and international engagement, she has strengthened the global visibility of the Faculty and built lasting partnerships across Europe.
As Ambassador of Excellence, she embodies the Forum’s values of excellence, vision, and innovation, and represents Slovenia’s strong voice within the European research and innovation community.
Biography
Prof. dr Tatjana Horvat serves as Dean at the University of Primorska, Faculty of Management (Slovenia), where she is also a Full Professor in accounting and auditing. She holds several professional licences, including Certified State Internal Auditor (Ministry of Finance, Slovenia), Certified Internal Auditor and Certified Accountant (Slovenian Institute of Auditors).
Her professional expertise spans financial management, auditing, transparency standards, forensic accounting and valuation. She is a member of the national examination boards at the Ministry of Justice of Slovenia for court experts and judicial appraisers in the fields of economics, finance, company valuation, forensic auditing and banking.
She contributes as a financial expert for European projects at the National Education Institute Slovenia, and for many years has chaired the national jury for the Best Annual Financial Report and Best CFO awards. She previously led business, finance, tax-related articles and training programmes at Finance, Slovenia’s leading business daily (Swedish ownership).
A recognised authority in transparent financial reporting for public institutions, corporations and financial organisations, she has authored or co-authored more than 500 international publications, including scientific papers, books, professional manuals, and has presented at numerous international academic and business events across Europe, Asia, North America and Australia.
