Biotechnology and consumer trust: results from co-creation sessions
- Biotechnology
What is the role of consumer trust in the development and utilisation of biotechnology in the agrifood sector?
Consumers play a central role in the development of biotechnological solutions for the agri-food and bio-based sectors as they ultimately consume the products - or, when it comes to farmers, and agriculture-related biotech solutions, they will be the end users of these products.
Biotechnology, as a whole, but also especially within the agri-food sector, has a significant potential for solving current problems. Developing novel proteins, producing highly resilient crops, safeguarding the production of crops and food, producing our food in a more sustainable way – all these developments can be achieved thanks to biotechnology.
B-Trust project partner, Alice down the rabbit hole, holds expertise in consumer involvement and participatory processes in research, innovation and product development. Within B-Trust, they have held co-creation sessions with consumers and other actors in order to gain insights into the role of co-creation in building trust in biotechnology. This webinar focuses on the results of these six sessions.
On the agenda for this webinar:
10h00 - 10h15: Presenting Biotech4Food and its activities (Innov'Alliance)
10h15 - 10h30: Presenting the B-Trust project (Flanders' Food)
10h30 - 11h15: Results from six co-creation sessions on consumer trust in biotech (Alice down the rabbit hole)
11h15 - 11h30: Q&A session (Alice down the rabbit hole & FF)
