Better eFreight & eFTI Ecosystem - BEE-FLOW
About
BEE-FLOW aims to redefine digital collaboration in European freight transport by extending and accelerating the adoption of electronic Freight Transport Information (eFTI) frameworks. Building on Regulation 2020/1056, the project harnesses advanced digital architectures, AI-enabled data sharing, and real-time route optimization to unlock new avenues for B2B and B2A interactions—thus streamlining logistics processes and reducing administrative overhead. By aligning with existing regulations and expanding eFTI functionalities, BEE-FLOW not only simplifies compliance but also encourages the rapid uptake of green, secure, and interoperable digital services. Through cutting-edge automation and robust interoperability, this initiative will ultimately drive Europe’s freight transport and logistics into a more efficient, connected, and sustainable future. To validate its solutions, BEE-FLOW will undertake two large-scale demonstrations encompassing multimodal logistics corridors and urban distribution hubs. These demonstrations will showcase how connected eFTI-compliant platforms, along with dynamic emissions reportingand automated regulatory checks, can significantly transform the freight transport ecosystem.
A multidisciplinary consortium —comprising technology providers, logistics companies, SMEs, academic institutions, and public authorities—will address policy, technical, and socioeconomic challenges. This approach guarantees robust cybersecurity, ensures data sovereignty, and fosters trusted operations, enabling full participation from smaller operators. BEE-FLOW will thus catalyze a sustainable, digital, and competitively agile freight ecosystem, effectively bridging the gap between policy directives and market uptake. Through targeted business models and comprehensive stakeholder engagement, BEE-FLOW solidifies digitally connected freight transport as a cornerstone of Europe’s low-carbon mobility future.
