About
At Leitat, we are seeking collaboration for the upcoming call HORIZON--CL4-INDUSTRY-2025-01-TWIN-TRANSITION-11: Enhanced logistics and operations of construction sites (IA).
Call Scope Overview:
Construction works involve a wide range of complex on-site operations beyond the assembly of structural elements—including transport and movement of materials, storage of products, waste handling, temporary infrastructure, and coordination of trades and equipment. Mistakes and delays in these activities can lead to accidents, waste, pollution, and overall inefficiencies. There is a strong need for faster, more efficient, and error-reducing site operations, supported by technology-driven innovations.
Proposals should aim to:
-
Develop technologies to enhance the efficiency, speed, and productivity of site operations, ensuring interoperability with tools like Digital Twins and BIM, while maintaining high safety standards;
-
Improve the traceability of materials and products on-site and beyond;
Integrate circular economy strategies, targeting waste prevention and effective management of construction and demolition waste; -
Reduce errors and accidents, and boost resilience to unexpected disruptions;
-
Address human-centric and Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) aspects, including social innovation approaches to support widespread adoption and market readiness of developed solutions.
Our potential contributions:
-
Development of AI-driven algorithms for transport synchronization, optimizing Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) calculations to ensure proper timing for material deliveries.
-
Creation of interoperable data-sharing environments enabling seamless information exchange between suppliers, logistics providers, and on-site operators.
-
Use of AI-powered computer vision for personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance and adaptive PPE design on construction sites.
