My organisation

ULAK Communications Inc. was established on April 20, 2017, by SSTEK Defense Industry Technologies Inc. to conduct R&D and engineering activities for mobile and broadband communication systems used by commercial network operators, as well as the production, testing, assembly, integration, sales, marketing, import, and export of these systems and spare parts, and to provide training, maintenance, and support services. ASELSAN acquired 51% of ULAK Communications Inc.’s shares from SSTEK on October 1, 2018. HAVELSAN Inc. acquired 25% of the company’s shares from SSTEK on February 10, 2020.

About me

Dr. Evren Tuna received his bachelor's and master's degrees in Electronics and Communication Engineering from İzmir Institute of Technology in 2013 and 2016, respectively. He obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bahçeşehir University in 2023, with his doctoral thesis focused on "Traffic Prediction with Network Slicing for 5G and Beyond Networks." After working as a System Design Engineer at Vestel between 2013 and 2014, he joined Turkcell in 2014, where he held the position of Radio Control Systems Engineer in 2014 and Network Data Center Planning Engineer from 2014 to 2019. From 2019 to 2022, Dr. Evren Tuna worked as a 5G R&D Engineer at Turkcell Technology, and since 2022, he has been working as a Lead R&D Engineer at ULAK Communication Inc. He also serves as the R&D Laboratory Manager for the ULAK 6G and Beyond Communication Technologies Laboratory (UL6B), supported under the TÜBİTAK 1515-Frontier R&D Laboratory Support Program.

Dr. Evren Tuna has specialized in the development of 5G and beyond communication technologies, particularly with the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). His areas of expertise include V2X product development, positioning enhancement, mobility optimization, and Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN). As a 3GPP delegate, he contributes to patent creation and standardization, with extensive experience in the entire process from prototype development to standardization. Additionally, he teaches the "Next Generation Wireless Communication Technologies" course at Yıldız Technical University as part of the Sector Campus Program, which is managed by the Ministry of Industry and Technology.
