The Department was founded in 2006 with a mission to advance Computer Science, primarily in the field of web/telematic applications, big data, machine learning and networking. The Department places strong emphasis on application domains such as internet technologies, digital transformation, e-business, e-government, e-health, advanced transport telematics.
Fenia Giannakopoulou is a research associate and a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of informatics and Telematics of Harokopio University of Athens. She received her bachelor’s degree from the department of Sociology at the Panteion University of Athens and her master's degree in Gender, Society and Politics from the same University. Her research interests are developed around gender, body and sexuality and how these are intertwined to discourse and power. She has participated as a research associate in several national and European research projects.
