Ahmet Karaoğlu
Dr. Ahmet Karaoğlu was born in 1984 in Karabük, Turkey. Throughout his academic and administrative career, he has conducted significant research in artificial intelligence, image processing, digital transformation, and software engineering.
He completed his undergraduate studies in Computer Education at Karabük University’s Technical Education Faculty and later obtained a second bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering at Karabük University. He pursued a master’s degree in Electronics and Computer Education and earned his PhD in Computer Engineering from Karabük University in 2023. His doctoral thesis focused on the analysis of panoramic radiographic images using machine learning methods.
Academic and Administrative Roles
Dr. Ahmet Karaoğlu began his academic career as a Lecturer at Sinop University’s Gerze Vocational School, where he served as Head of the Department and Vice Director of the Vocational School for several years. As of 2024, he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Sinop University.
In addition to his academic role, he serves as a Rector’s Advisor and Coordinator of the Digital Transformation Office, leading the university's digitalization initiatives. In 2024, he was appointed as the Director of Sinop University’s School of Applied Sciences, where he continues to work on higher education digitalization and academic management.
Research and Projects
Dr. Karaoğlu’s research focuses on artificial intelligence, machine learning, image processing, big data, digital transformation, and software engineering. He was a key researcher in the TÜBİTAK-funded “DentiAssist” project, which aimed to develop AI-supported dental image analysis systems for the healthcare sector.
Additionally, he has conducted scientific studies on machine learning-based motor performance optimization and AI-supported biodiesel production processes.

Dr. Karaoğlu has published numerous research papers in international peer-reviewed journals, particularly on topics such as "Tooth Numbering in Panoramic Images," "Machine Learning for Motor Performance Optimization," and "AI-Driven Optimization in Biodiesel Production."
He has also contributed as a chapter author in books such as “Artificial Intelligence: From Theory to Practice,” “AI Applications in Digital Transformation,” and “Sustainable Future: AI for Environment, Energy, and Global Solutions.”
