Dokuz Eylül University (DEU), founded in 1982, has a long-standing tradition of serving as a hub for research and education, particularly in the Aegean region. Res. Assist. Dr. Ceyda Ünal received her undergraduate degree from the Department of Information Systems and Technologies (full scholarship) at Yeditepe University. She completed master's degrees at Dokuz Eylül University, Department of Management Information Systems. She obtained her doctoral degree from the Department of Management Information Systems at Dokuz Eylül University. Ünal is currently working as a research assistant at Management Information Systems Department. Dr. Ünal has been involved as a researcher focused on data science and artificial intelligence projects especially AI in healthcare and currently working on early detection of Alzheimer’s disease leveraging machine learning. On a national and international scale, she has authored a multitude of book chapters, research papers and articles. Her main research areas include artificial intelligence in healthcare, clinical decision support systems, social media analytics and management information systems.
