Gender-inclusive financing

The UN Gender and Energy Compact co-leads are co-hosting a coffee house networking session focused on: 

1. Promoting inspirational stories of women entrepreneurs who overcame barriers to accessing finance.

2. Sharing insights from expert contributors on effective mechanisms and policies to empower women entrepreneurs.

The session is part of the UNIDO Cleantech Days and is included in the official agenda of the ViennaUP festival of the Vienna Business Agency. Cleantech Days 2024 aims at providing visibility and networking opportunities for impactful cleantech solutions, connecting UNIDO-supported entrepreneurs with other businesses, financiers and investors, as well as providing a venue for capacity building, peer learning and impact-oriented collaboration.

The session will aim to draw lessons learned from the experiences shared and provide practical tips for accessing finance beyond the event. Generated learnings will be widely disseminated on social media and the Gender and Energy Compact website. The event will be the first step in a roadmap to COP29 discussions around gender-inclusive financing for energy solutions.
