My organisation
StirLight are the first company in the UK to offer Friction Stir Welding as a service. With our technical expertise, we can support any FSW project from conception through to prototype and production from our facility in Chesterfield.
With FSW, we can join any form of aluminium from 0.3mm to 50mm thickness with a zero porosity weld. We can also join dissimilar materials and thicknesses, titanium, copper and steel.
Friction Stir Welding is a joining process that happens below the melting point. It uses heat generated from the friction of a rotating tool to mechanically join materials.
