About me
Christoph Schrahe (born 1968) studied geography and business administration and for more than 25 years he advises numerous ropeway companies on their strategic development, often over many years as part of external controlling and accompanying coaching.
In 2008 he founded his own company Montenius Consult. Most of his 100+ projects were in German-speaking countries but he also accompanied ski area and ropeway projects in Canada, the Ukraine, Romania, Turkey and Pakistan, especially as part of master plans. In 2024 he joined Bright Places as an Equity Partner.
He is a lecturer in business planning as part of the university course “Fundamentals of Ski Area Management” at the Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences in Dornbirn/Austria, where he teaches prospective managers from cable car companies how to create sustainable business plans.
In addition to business plans for planned expansion projects, repositioning or replacement investments for ski areas, where the year-round orientation of the product portfolio is now standard, ski areas entrust him with special business analysis.
Christoph Schrahe also works for cable car associations and regional organizations. In the fall of 2022, he prepared a study on the total energy requirements for winter operations of German ski areas for the Verband deutscher Seilbahnen und Schlepplifte e. V. (German cable car association).
Christoph Schrahe also regularly publishes about skiing and ropeway related topices in national and international media. He has inspected 600 ski areas in 45 countries and is a certified ski instructor.
