Achim, the Founder of WaterWattS, has been active in the Entrepreneurial Cleantech sector for more than 20 years: Initially as a UK Government Grant backed founder for an Electrochemical Water Treatment Start-up, followed by 9 years as Investor and business builder for UK FTSE250 listed IP Group, an early stage VC focussed on University Spin-outs. He was involved in numerous investment rounds from pre-Seed to Round B and held investor NED/Chair positions Prior to this as a Strategy Consultant with McKinsey (Duesseldorf and London) he supported clients mainly in Oil&Gas and industrial sectors. Achim launched his career as R&D Engineer and specialist for water and membrane tech at a Cleantech Fraunhofer Institute. He received a Dr degree in Chemical Engineering from Dortmund and Diploma from Karlsruhe University. Achim also holds an MBA from Kellogg, major in Entrepreneurship. He has dual nationality, UK and Germany, and is a certified SCUBA Instructor.
