HORIZON-CL5-2025-03-D1-04: Climate change extreme and slow-onset events and their impacts
Professor of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Sheffield
Sheffield, United Kingdom
About
The University of Sheffield Rail Innovation and Technology Centre conducts modelling of transport networks and their vulnerability/resilience. These networks are often disrupted by climate and weather events, for example, as drainage systems become inadequate, or increasing high-low temperature ranges produce excessive thermal stress in track. Our focus is on the impact of these events, and the opportunities that exist to better forecast them and prepare for them through reconstruction, resilience and adaptation plans.
