kdg opticomp GmbH is an Austrian ISO 13485 manufacturer of optical and medical components by high-precision injection moulding under cleanroom-conditions.
The company kdg opticomp GmbH is an Austrian manufacturer of optical and medical components by high-precision injection moulding under cleanroom-conditions. kdg has more than 30 years of experience in replication of structured surfaces as optical storage media, such as CDs, DVDs, Blu-Rays. Coming from the CD/DVD market, kdg is seeking for other market opportunities and one of the most promising directions is in the combination of photonics and biomedicine. Among other projects related to replication of microstructures by injection moulding, kdg also participates in the microfluidic oriented FFG-funded projects NextGenUpCon, LAMPION, and FastNanoToxTest. Moreover, kdg, can offer in-house electroplating for manufacturing tool inserts for injection moulding machines. kdg is an ISO 13485 certified expert on fully automatised injection moulding machines. The company specifically possesses cleanroom facilities and equipment enabling injection molding for imprinting nanostructures. In addition, R&D department competence in application of replication techniques as well as in project management. With our technologies and patented processes, we are able to mould 2D/3D micro- and nano-structures in thermo-plastic materials. The infrastructure of kdg also allows for compression molding, hot-embossing and physical vapor deposition of polymer parts.
