RAISE Platform
About
The RAISE service has been designed to effectively share and manage data across different research entities while adhering to privacy, ethics, and intellectual property regulations. It facilitates distributed crowdsourced data processing, transitioning from open data to data open for processing, adhering to the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) principles. The vision of the platform is to foster an open, fair, and dependable research community where researchers are accredited for their work and research data is equally accessible for processing without compromising data protection regulations.
The service comprises three main agents: the Research Community, RAISE Certified Nodes (RCNs), and the RAISE Central Hub (RCH), each serving distinct functions and interconnected to ensure seamless operation. Users can undertake various actions through the RAISE portal hosted in the RCH, such as making data accessible in RCNs, discovering datasets from RCNs, downloading shareable versions of datasets hosted in the RCNs, executing processing scripts with real datasets in the RCNs (and obtaining the results), and registering the processing scripts results under a Research Analysis Identifier (RAI ID).
