HORIZON-CL5-2024-D3-02-02: Development of next generation synthetic renewable fuel technologies
About
CO2 capture and conversion (either from concentrated steams, such as biogenic or flue gas, and diluted steams, such as atmospheric samples) to fuels:
o Development of CO2-selective capture systems based in polymeric membranes or capsules, multifunctional ionic liquids, and combinations of them.
o Development of innovative catalysts (either, nanocatalyst, organometallic catalyst, and combination of them) and setting-up continuous flow catalytic processes for the CO2 transformation to added-value liquid (i.e., methanol, and Fischer-Tropsch products) and gaseous (biomethane, carbon monoxide) biofuels by thermochemical and electrochemical, or a combination of them.
o Scaling up technologies from TRL3 and unique reactors (high temperature and pressure continuous flow thermochemical reactor, and modular 3D-printed electrochemical reactor) and infrastructure (reaction monitored by coupling reactors to chromatographic systems) for scaling up these processes from TRL3 to TRL4/TRL5/TRL6.
