About
Vulkam provides Amorphous Metal parts in Vulkalloy® Nb Med and Zr Med for Medical applications by "Net shape / Near net shape" thermomoulding processes. Our Vulkalloys® are particularly well-suited to the production of micromechanical components, thanks to their specific advantages, such as :

A High resistance enabling them to be miniaturized and their characteristics to be enhanced (1600 to 2800 Mpa).

A High fatigue resistance up to 1450 Mpa (1 % creep) at 10 Mios cycles for a better lifetime.

A High hardness up to 850 HV with low friction ratios for a better wearing resistance and cutting efficiency.

Higher corrosion resistance than stainless steel 316 L ensuring a better life time.

Lower young modulus than stainless steels with 2 % elastic deformation (80 to 150 Gpa).

Non magnetics.

Biocompatible.

A processability by thermomoulding to avoid current machining steps and design new geometries. The use of the thermomoulding process enables significant savings in materials and resources and can be a differentiating solution for your design projects. It allows a high processing & reproducibility.
