About

Your projects may involve the use of Amorphous Metal Alloys dedcated to products subjected to a wide range of mechanical stresses, or with the aim of miniaturization. Amorphous Metal components are intended for micromechanical, watchmaking, medical, aerospace or industrial applications. We'll be happy to help you achieving your technical objectives and discuss your projects.

Amorphous Metals do present very high mechanical strength and fatigue resistance, high hardness and wear resistance, a quite good flexibility, decreasing resistivity with temperature, while being non-magnetic and biocompatible.

Vulkam is a French Deep Tech metallurgy start-up, based on 30 years of research into Amorphous Metal Alloys at France's leading metallurgy laboratory, SIMAP (Science et Ingénierie des Matériaux et Procédés).  It is now in the industrialization phase, and specializes in the production of Amorphous Metal Alloy components, from the elaboration of the material to the final part.

The creation of the company is based on the desire of the two co-founders, Sébastien Gravier and Alexis Lenain, to use this fundamental knowledge to develop the resources needed for its industrialization. Since 2015, the scientific team involved in developing and scaling the processes of the future startup has been able to build long-term industrial partnerships to develop industrial solutions.

Vulkam is proud of its values, rooted in a strongly scientific and human culture, with an innovative, stimulating and dynamic working environment, a focus on skills development, training and knowledge transfer, a strong team spirit and a high level of involvement of every team member in major development projects.

The company is organized into Research & Development teams for component design, Industrialization teams dedicated to ramping up production rates, and Sales, Administrative & Financial teams to support growth in target markets and meet customer needs.

Vulkam has raised 34 million euros in funds, December 2023, to industrialize its Amorphous Metals alloys and build a plant in the Grenoble basin, France. This demonstrates the company's commitment to innovation and its determination to expand and become a leading industrial SME in new metallurgy.
