About

Sulla (Hedysarum coronarium) is a herbaceous plant that belongs to the legume family; in spring between the months of April and June it covers the fields of the countryside of the southern and central regions of Italy with its bright red-purple colour.

It is a honey rich in vitamin A, vitamins C and some B vitamins, contains numerous mineral salts such as: iron, copper, zinc, magnesium and manganese, and has a high concentration of fructose which makes it a source of energy quickly available and therefore a valuable resource for athletes and sportsmen. Thanks to this composition, sulla honey has purifying and detoxifying effects on our body, it is mildly diuretic, and is an excellent remedy for sore throat. The delicate taste of sulla honey makes it particularly suitable for use in confectionery, especially for the production of nougat. It can also be enjoyed in excellent combination with fresh cheeses such as ricotta and goat cheese.
