Winemaker / Estate Manager at Castello di Montegiove
Montegiove, Italy
About
This wine takes its name from the Marquises Misciattelli Mocenigo Soranzo, who still own and have produced wine at Castello di Montegiove since 1780. It has a deep ruby red color with an understated aroma of berries. The taste is a round, clean, and elegant composition of cassis and dark fruits with a notable minerality. A number of leading wine guides have nominated this wine as one of superior quality, and it has recieved several prestigious international awards.
This wine is made from Sangiovese, Merlot and Montepulciano grapes aged in medium toasted oak casks, second pour barriques, and tonneaux for 12 months and an additional 12 months in bottle.
