BIRD WATCHING

Bosco Pontoni is the original name of this area; however, the woods were completely cleared in the early 1800's, leaving only agricultural land. Don Francesco Colonna made a significant contribution to repopulate the area with thousands of olive trees. He carried out the most important project of artificial lakes in Southern Italy. Primarily used for irrigation. Biodiversity has reclaimed its space; the trees provide shelter and serve as a home for numerous species, while the lakes inevitably attract other creatures. Bird species are particularly abundant near the lakes, living in perfect harmony in the same environment. Therefore, it is possible to take a pleasant walk around the lakes and observe various animal species. For us, biodiversity represents great wealth.
