Drone Technology @ work: A Worker-Centered Approach
About
Drones are used for labour processes in various sectors, including science, agriculture and the film industry. While the functionalities of drones are already well researched, this project provides new insights into how drones impact work processes, particularly from a worker-centred perspective. The question is not only how drones have changed the work processes themselves, but also what has changed for those who work with them as a result of their use.
For this project I am looking for possible consortium partners from...
-
Academic institutions in Europe and Southeast Asia interested in synergies between drones, labor studies, and cultural dynamics
-
Industry partners from the drone technology sector, for example in agriculture, film industry, and other relevant fields.
-
NGOs provide drone training that focuses on topics such as safety, drone regulations, and ethics.
Preliminary Objectives
RO1 Identify Key Patterns of Usage and the Technological Drivers Behind Drones Across Various Work Sectors in Europe and Southeast Asia
RO2 Assess the Impact of Drone Technology on the Efficiency, Safety, and Nature of Work Processes, with a Particular Focus on Changes in Job Roles, Skill Requirements, and Labor Distribution
RO3 Provide comparative insights into how cultural contexts influence the adoption and impact of drone technology on work processes
RO4 Offer Recommendations for policymakers, industry stakeholders, and communities on the responsible and effective integration of drones into work processes, incorporating ethical and cultural Considerations
The project innovates by rethinking the integration of drones into work processes, ensuring enhanced efficiency, safety, and job satisfaction through comprehensive research findings, policy recommendations, and the development of best practices that prioritize the well-being and advancement of workers in diverse industries.
Looking forward to discussing this further!
