Fondazione Don Carlo Gnocchi ONLUS (FDG) is a non-profit organization that includes a network of 29 Hospitals located in 9 Regions in Italy. FDG offers a huge national coverage with its centres (of whom 2 research institutes) and 5.900 collaborators, takes care of about 200.000 outpatients and 13.000 inpatients annually, in any phase of the lifespan. FDG expertise is focused on Rehabilitation Medicine and Neuroscience with the aim to perform basic and translational research within a program of excellence of the Italian Ministry of Health. In this framework, the “Santa Maria Nascente Institute” in Milan and the “Don Carlo Gnocchi” hospital in Florence have been recognized by the Ministry as research hospitals (IRCCS).
