About me

Dr. Can Yao received her Bachelor degree in the Aerospace department in Tsinghua University in 2005, and got her Master degree from the Chinese Academy of Science in 2008. She finished  her PhD study in Photonics from the institute of photonic sciences (ICFO) in Barcelona, Spain in 2014. Then she joined EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) and worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the field of optical fiber laser and fiber sensing, at the same time coordinating a large European project - FINESSE. Since 2021, she has been working as an application engineer in LIGENTEC SA to explore the application fields of Silicon Nitride photonic integrated circuits.
