TeraBIX Tb/s optical transceiver
About
TeraBIX is designed as an integrated optical transceiver for co-packaged optics: the lightweight system is the size of a pound coin and can be mounted directly alongside your FPGA/ASIC for ultra-short interconnects. Seed lasers can be positioned remotely to improve temperature management. The unit is suitable for data centre applications where its ultra-low energy budget (<5pJ/bit) substantially reduces thermal management challenges, but was designed for flight: the system is qualified as radiation and vacuum-hard, and capable of surviving sustained high-G launch conditions. TeraBIX has been developed with customers including ESA and DARPA.
