Rail Data Forum 2024
18 June 2024 - 19 June 2024|
Verona , Italy
Welcome to the Rail Data Forum 2024!
The railway industry isn't just about trains or tracks. It's also about data. The crucial role of data in rail's potential is a key topic in European discussions, with exciting developments from many organisations.
At ERA, we have adopted an objective to become a data-centric organisation. We are currently updating our registers to separate data from applications, taking advantage of a semantic approach.
In 2023 the new regulation on the Register for railway Infrastructure (RINF) came into force, establishing a register based on the Agency’s published ontology. The RINF should now be the reference basis for railway infrastructure data, including the data required by Railway Undertakings to establish a driver’s routebook. As the Agency expands the ontology to cover the rest of the railway system, the need to exchange and collaborate with stakeholders becomes ever more pressing.
This is the reason why we decided to organise the Rail Data Forum, in Verona, Italy, on 18-19 June 2024. We want this forum to mark the start of a wider and deeper collaboration on railway data!
Why should you attend?
To promote collaboration and awareness among data and railway professionals, we will address the following topics in Verona:
-
Potential linked data railway applications, also in the scope of the Brenner corridor, particularly a common digital routebook;
-
Current challenges;
-
Explore potential advancements in linked data technologies;
The event will also focus on how semantic technologies can play a crucial role in organising and representing interconnected data, improving data quality and implementing the objective of FAIR data (Findable, accessible, interoperable and reuseable). The workshops will also provide an opportunity to accelerate the work on driver route book. Don’t miss it!
We are looking forward to welcoming you in Verona!
