About
In my research, I focus on how corticosterone, a primary stress hormone, alters the social behavior of mice, significantly impacting their interactions and social dynamics. I explore how chronic stress affects key components of social behavior, particularly identifying changes in brain neurobiology that disrupt normal social interactions. My work delves into specific aspects such as aggression, social withdrawal, and communication, aiming to map out which areas are most affected by long-term stress exposure.
In the second part, I investigate the therapeutic potential of psilocybin and ketamine to reverse the effects of chronic stress. By analyzing how these substances influence neurotransmission and synaptic plasticity, I aim to understand their impact on improving social behavior. I also compare the distinct mechanisms and efficacy of psilocybin and ketamine in mitigating stress-induced social impairments.
Through my research, I aim to contribute to a deeper understanding of how chronic stress impacts social behavior and how substances like psilocybin and ketamine might alleviate these effects. By gaining insights into these mechanisms, I hope my findings can help inform future studies that explore new avenues for addressing stress-related social dysfunctions in both preclinical and clinical settings :)
