About me
I have a degree in fisheries biology, worked in fisheries and aquaculture research and commercial projects in e.g. Germany, Canada, USA, Russia and Estonia. Since eight years I am working at the R&D Centre University of Applied Sciences Kiel as head of the marine biology department. Currently I am focusing on leading the two German pilots and coordinating all six EU pilots within the EU project ULTFARMS.

Session 5: Scaling up cultivation in exposed areas
As nearshore coastal areas are becoming scarce due to multiple use such as fisheries, tourism, and other nearshore activities, seaweed cultivation will soon shift to truly offshore areas. Experts will discuss colocation, materials and other aspects.
