SLOW WINE FAIR and SANA return to Bologna (together!) from February 23 to 25, 2025
BolognaFiere will host the fourth edition of the event dedicated to good, clean, and fair wine, accompanied by SANA Food, an innovative format focused on healthy eating out-of-home.
Slow Wine Fair is the convention for wine producers who have signed and practice the principles stated in the Slow Food Manifesto for good, clean, and fair wine: wine from sustainable agriculture, prioritizing biodiversity, sustainability in vineyards and cellars, and landscape preservation. Wine is regarded here as not only a product but also a cultural expression.
Alongside wineries and vignerons, top producers of amaro and spirits – as part of the 5th edition of Fiera dell’Amaro d’Italia - will showcase and offer tastings of distillates and liqueurs, from the beloved Italian aperitivo to digestifs
SANA Food draws on the 35 years of experience from the SANA expo for organic and natural food. It broadens the offering for out-of-home consumption by incorporating new product categories. This approach responds to the growing demand for healthy and sustainable nutritional options, including vegetarian, vegan, plant-based, free-from, rich-in, and more.
The event targets buyers and professionals - importers, distributors, HoReCa, e-shops, innkeepers, restaurateurs, sommeliers, wine shop owners, retailers, herbalists, hotels, B&Bs, caterers, canteens, specialty stores, e-commerce platforms, and others - seeking wines produced using virtuous methods and healthy, sustainable foods that meet the needs of increasingly health-conscious and environmentally aware consumers.
The third edition of Slow Wine Fair attracted approximately 12,000 visitors and showcased 5,300 wine labels from 894 wineries - 510 were certified organic, biodynamic, or in conversion - from 26 countries worldwide and every Italian region.
The 2025 edition will feature a thematic focus on the sustainability of the wine supply chain, a highly relevant topic in addressing the climate crisis.
The rich programme of masterclasses, conferences, forums, and debates that has characterized Slow Wine Fair since its inception offers a valuable opportunity to raise awareness about sustainable agriculture, biodiversity, landscape preservation, resource management, ecological transition, and the sociocultural growth of rural communities.
Among the exhibitors, partners from the supply chain will present technological solutions, tools, and services that contribute to agricultural system renewal with sustainability in mind.
The SANA Food programme will feature the institutional event "Rivoluzione Bio", a day dedicated to updates from the organic production and farming sector. Other highlights will focus on out-of-home consumption, particularly breakfast and aperitivo moments, with cooking demos and training sessions covering topics from free-from products to regulations, restaurant menus, and vegan/vegetarian recipes respectful of non-contamination standards.
To facilitate networking among industry professionals, Slow Wine Fair and SANA Food provide exhibitors, professional visitors, and buyers with a valuable tool: b2match. This online platform allows attendees to plan their visit efficiently by organizing meeting schedules in advance.
