Ioannis Alamanos is currently the VP of Engineering at Vertliner, where he oversees the company’s entire technology stack and leads a team of three engineers. He is well known in academia for developing an open-source visual SLAM system, which has become a foundational contribution to research in SLAM and autonomous navigation. Ioannis brings over three years of hands-on research experience from the Intelligent Robotics & Automation Laboratory at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), where he developed advanced algorithms for SLAM and motion planning. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Robotics at NTUA and holds a combined B.Sc. and M.Eng. in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the same university.
