Leading mSemicon's participation in the H2020 AutoDAN project, where we have developed a flexible power meter. Also coordinating demo site installation.
Started career working as an R&D electronics engineer with Emerson Electric Company, St Louis, Missouri, USA. Focus was on development of electronic motor drives for home appliances such as blowers and compressors for HVAC systems.
Moved to Italy, and led development group in CESet, Asti, Italy (Emerson group) in the development of electronic drives for major domestic appliances in European applications, especially washing machines.
In 1997 became Director, Digital Appliance Controls (Division of Emerson), also in Italy. Responsible for group developing electronic controls for a diverse range of kitchen appliances.
In 2001 moved back to Ireland to set up mSemicon where the focus has been on the development and supply of electronic controls for multiple sectors, especially in energy. Also, on the development of remote sensors (mostly IoT based).
My organisation
mSemicon is an electronic engineering company based in Dublin, Ireland.
mSemicon designs, develops and supplies products, generally including electronic and mechanical subassemblies, and mostly involving network connectivity. One of these products is a flexible wifi-enabled power meter we have developed for the H2020 AutoDAN project, complete with end-to-end functionality. It would be great to see this meter used on other similar projects.
mSemicon has participated in several other national energy related research projects, where we have developed the hardware necessary.
Another major area of activity of mSemicon is IoT products in general, where the company has developed several outdoor sensors to detect phenomena such as flooding and asset theft.
