In modern voltammetry, ECOMETRY applies a time-dependent potential to a working electrode. The key measurement is the current flowing between this working electrode and an auxiliary electrode. The method is particularly effective when combined with screen-printed electrodes (SPEs), enhancing ECOMETRY's suitability for portable applications. The principle behind this technology is simple yet powerful: substances that reduce or oxidize on the electrode surface under the appropriate potential generate a current. ECOMETRY leverages this current to precisely identify and quantify nutrients.
