Partnership on EU-funded battery pilot

About

Halide Energy has patented copper-based flow batteries for use in long-duration (8-12 hour) energy storage applications co-located with renewable energy producers or energy-intensive users. Copper flow batteries have a much longer cycle life compared to current lithium-based BESS on the market today, and its active metal species of copper is 10 times cheaper than vanadium which is used in alternative flow batteries. CFBs which are designed for recyclability also do not contain critical raw materials, leading to a lower carbon footprint over its 20-year lifecycle. Our innovations in the battery stack design and assembly process leads to vast decreases in manufacturing costs and complexity, bolstered by a single-step electrolyte preparation, as compared to other battery chemistries on the market.

We are applying for EIC funding in 2025 as a technology supplier, and we are open to working with complementary partners for a stationary battery storage project.

Partner expertise can range from: Energy Management System, Wind energy, Solar PV, Grid integration expertise, Power conversion hardware, Inverter hardware,

Pilot project use case: Frequency containment reserves, Energy and cost arbitrage, Peak shifting, UPS
