Let's talk about sustainability

Is sustainability a fad, a PR stunt or an inevitable necessity and reality? Thousands of companies around the world and in Lithuania declare that they are doing everything to make our tomorrow cleaner, business more transparent, and opportunities for employees more equal. Words and phrases are everywhere: #sustainability, #secondary use, #circular economy, #ecology, #cleaner future, #renewable resources, #sorting equal rights, #equal wages for men and women, #promotion of qualification improvement, etc. And what does it really mean? 58 percent of the population trust the statements of business companies about the sustainability of their products or services and do not look into it further. But packaging a product which is made from recycled paper there is nothing sustainable about its entire production and supply chain. It is just a marketing gimmick? Filmmakers will meet with many companies and will try to find out if these are not just meaningless declarations.

And all this - in a movie format.

During the film, viewers will learn about initiatives that many companies take in the field of environmental protection, about how they promote and support the development of environmentally friendly technologies, how they encourage their employees, business partners or service providers to get involved. The film aims to expand the understanding of the concept of "sustainability" itself - viewers will be encouraged to review their current choices, learn about possible greener alternatives to their daily choices, better think about their daily shopping basket, increase the energy efficiency of their homes or offices by switching to energy from renewable sources of use. The creators of the film have no doubt that they will surprise you with knowledge that broadens your horizons and the awareness that sustainability can be determined even by accumulating a pension in funds or companies, by giving equal rights to men and women, by including schoolchildren or seniors in the search for opportunities, by conducting activities transparently, by eliminating the possibility of corruption, discrimination, and so on, while also providing freedom of expression to employees and taking care of the protection of personal privacy.

Filmmakers will identify and honor businesses that truly invest in sustainability, with the understanding that being sustainable sometimes doesn't even guarantee a competitive advantage.
