About me
Martin Kern works as a Scientific Advisor in the unit International Programmes in Research & Innovation at the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI). He has been leading Swiss delegations to ESFRI, various programme committees (focus digital / industry / security) in the European Framework Programmes and served as Swiss delegate to the finance and council committees of the European Spallation Source. Before joining SERI, he did research in avalanche dynamics at the WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research (SLF) in Davos and at the avalanches division of the Federal Research and Training Centre (BfW) in Innsbruck, AT. Martin holds a diploma (MS) in physics from Bayreuth University and a PhD in technical sciences from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL).
