Saulius Vaitiekenas
Associate Professor
University of Copenhagen
Copenhagen, Denmark
I am an experimental condensed matter physicist primarily interested in emergent quatum phases and novel ground states in hybrid systems.
My organisation
We are the University of Copenhagen, one of the leading research and educational institutions in Europe. Our diverse community of students and scholars is committed to advancing knowledge across various disciplines, including humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and health. We pride ourselves on fostering innovation and collaboration, both within our university and with industry partners. Together, we strive to address global challenges and create impactful solutions through high-quality research and education.
About me
I am from Lithuania, and I received my B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in physics from the Free University of Berlin.
I completed my Ph.D. at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen.
After a short postdoc, I joined Microsoft Quantum for two years but then returned to academia, starting as a Visiting Scholar at Harvard University.
In 2022, I joined the Niels Bohr Institute as an Assistant Professor and became an Associate Professor in 2023.
