About me
Raul Ramos Pupo is a 36-year-old Medical Doctor specializing in Immunology with over ten years of clinical, research, and teaching experience. In 2013, he graduated as MD with outstanding academic results and, in 2017, became a Fundamental and Clinical Immunology Specialist at Havana Medical University. In 2019, he started a PhD in Biomedical Sciences under the supervision of Prof. dr. Piet Stinissen at Hasselt University, conducting a preclinical evaluation of a COVID-19 mucosal vaccine formulation adjuvanted with Bacillus subtilis spores. He has published in reputable peer-reviewed scientific journals and attended key international scientific meetings. As a grounded and solution-oriented scientist, he loves bringing big ideas to life while maintaining focus, strategic orientation, and the ability to lead and inspire others.

A COVID-19 mucosal vaccine formulation adjuvanted with Bacillus subtilis spores - University of Hasselt
The SARS-CoV-2 receptor-binding domain (RBD) coadministered with Bacillus subtilis spores through the nasal route induces robust humoral and cellular, both mucosal and systemic immune responses in mice.
