Practical information

The UN International Procurement Seminar (UN IPS) taking place at the UN City in Copenhagen on 11 and 12 March 2025.

Programme

  • The programme will run 9.00-17.00 on 11th and 9.00-16.00 on 12th.

  • The matchmaking will run 9.30-17.00 on 11th and 9.00-16.00 on 12th.
    Note: the 1-2-1 meetings with the UN organizations and development banks will run parallel to the seminar programme.

  • All meetings are 20 minutes long. This includes 5 minutes to move to the next meeting.

  • Some 1:1 meetings with UN organizations and development banks may be virtual, so delegates should bring a laptop with them.

  • Your meeting schedule with UN - and development banks officials will be available around March 4th. (subject to change).

  • After March 4th it is possible to book your own meetings with other delegates.

  • Please arrive at 7.30 to pass through security on Day 1.

Food & Drinks
Delegates at the UN IPS will be provided with refreshments in the form of tea, coffee, lunch and other light food on both days of the seminar. The first day will be followed by a drinks reception.

Map and Meeting Areas

The main programme will take place in Auditorium 3 (red on the map below). 1:1 meetings with the UN organizations and development banks will take place in the Pacific and Atlantic lounges (blue and green on the map), and specific rooms will be allocated in your schedule through this platform. For meetings arranged between delegates, a matchmaking space with numbered tables be available in Auditorium 2.

The venue for the seminar and the matchmaking will be the UN City, located in the Nordhavn area of Copenhagen, at the following address:

  • The airport-style security checks, consisting of a baggage scan and a personal scan.

  • You must show photo ID (i.e. passport or driving license) upon entry to UN City.

  • It is permitted to bring luggage, but please do not bring any hazardous materials or dangerous items. You are allowed to bring water bottles.

Charging Points & Wi-Fi

  • The wireless network for visitors is UN-City-Guest. There is no password.

  • Charging points will be available in the main auditorium for the seminar. Please note that Denmark uses the standard European Type C plug socket. An adapter is needed if using a UK standard plug socket.

Food & Drinks

Food and drink can be purchased in the following areas of UN City:

  • The UN City Canteen is located on the ground floor of the building, adjacent to the reception, and is open on all weekdays.

  • The coffee shop, United Beans, is also located on the ground floor at the end of Finger 7. It is open from 08.30-16.30.

Payment is by credit or debit card. We recommend using a VISA or MasterCard, as there have previously been issues with AmEx cards at UN City.

ATM

There is an ATM for withdrawing cash in DKK and EUR located on the ground floor of Finger 7. Please note that card is accepted almost universally in Denmark, and this is the norm for paying at cafés, restaurants, hotels and retail establishments.

Quiet Room for Prayer

The UN City prayer room is located on the ground floor close to the UN City Clinic. The room is accessible at all times. Please note that the room may be occupied by an individual or groups of common faith or denomination.

Getting to UN City

We highly encourage you to use public transportation.

Directions

UN City is well connected to the rest of Copenhagen by regional trains (S-tog), buses and the M4 Metro line. UN City is around 35 minutes from Copenhagen Airport by public transport. The closest station is Nordhavn St., located a 10-12-minute walk from UN City. It is served by:

  • Regional train (S-tog) lines A, B, C

  • M4 Metro line

Please note that the only transfer available from the train and Metro station to UN City is by foot. If you require transportation, please consider taxi options.
