PATHWAYS TOWARDS THE ULTRA-EFFICIENT AIRCRAFT #2

PATHWAYS TOWARDS THE ULTRA-EFFICIENT AIRCRAFT

Integrating digital innovations in flight physics, aircraft design and manufacturing – capabilities and applications

The development of digital innovations in combination with computing capabilities showcases to disrupt processes, tools and whole industry sectors. This evolution also bears potential for future research initiatives such as flight physics, flight systems, material development and overall aircraft design.

Objective of 2nd Thematic Workshop

The idea is to gather the community beyond the project partners and have a fair debate on the progress and possible gaps at methodology or at knowledge level. This shall also create a sustainable momentum for the future development of flight physics capabilities.

STORYLINE OF OUR 2nd WORKSHOP

The main objective to discuss and consolidate the portfolio for UP Wing development with an extended group of stakeholders.

In dedicated sessions, the workshop will delve deeply into the following key areas:

  • Enhanced Validation Techniques for HAR Wing Aircraft

  • Modeling and Control of Aeroelastic Aircraft: From Model-Based to Data-Driven and AI-Enabled Approaches

  • Bridging the Gap: Aligning Multidisciplinary Design Optimization Research with Industrial Aircraft Design Needs

  • Future Advancements of HAR Wing Concepts

Each session will be hosted and moderated by two RTO/academia experts from the UP Wing consortium containing:

  • Opening pitch(es) from the session hosts

  • Complementary pitches from consortium and external experts

  • Open discussion

  • Conclusion based on session objectives

In an open exchange between Universities, Research and Technology Organisations and Industry partners, experts will share insights into current and future research activities. Finally, each session will conclude with implications for future projects, development efforts, and demonstration activities.

Encouraging Open Dialogue

To foster an open and productive dialogue, all inputs and findings will be anonymised. We encourage participants to adopt an open, organisation-agnostic approach. The workshop outcomes will be shared with all participants as far as is reasonable.

Join leading minds from Universities, Research and Technology Organisations and Industry and help shape the future of wing technology! We look forward to welcoming you to this highly collaborative workshop.

UP Wing - 1st Thematic Workshop Recap

Take a look back at some highlights from our first thematic workshop, a great mix of insight, collaboration, and technical discussions. Whether you joined us last time or are considering attending for the first time, this video gives you a feel for the energy and value you can expect. We’re excited to build on this momentum in the second thematic Workshop!
