"La Fea" Barbera d'Asti DOCG 2023

Barbera is the “lady” of our hills. This vine has always been cultivated in the the area of Montabone, and it is a true Piedmontese classic. The bottles of “la Fea”represent the best that this noble grape can give us: a red full-bodied wine, very drinkable, simple but not banal.

Only the best rows of the vineyards on hill Fea, the most sunny one we owns, are involved in the production of this wine. The fully-ripe grapes are harvested in the end of september, and follow the traditional fermentation in red on the skins, with the addition of one délestage, in aim to extract structure, aromas and color typical of the grape. The wine obtained has a deep ruby red color, an important but pleasant acidity, a powerful body, with quite high alcohol level (14-14.5%) but well balanced, with a rich and harmonius bouquet, due to the altitude of our vineyards (350 m above sea level). Wine is aged for one year in a old concrete cement tank, and for another 6 months minimum in the bottle. “La Fea” perfectly match to meat, bbq, pasta and pizza too.

If stored properly, it can be aged for very long time.
