For Our Children Foundation (FOC) is a non-profit organization with over 30-years of experience in providing professional social services for young children (0-7) and their families. The organisation’s staff of around 100 people include early childhood development specialists, psychologists, speech therapists, social workers, special pedagogues, and rehabilitators. They provide serves to over 2,500 children and families per year in two complexes for early childhood development in the cities of Sofia and Plovdiv. In March 2022, For Our Children Foundation launched the Mission Ukraine program as an immediate response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the subsequent wave of refugees to Bulgaria. In the period March 2022-December 2023, in partnership with the International Rescue Committee and Family For Evely Child, we provided support to over 1700 children and their families. The program activities included: learning and play activities for young children in child friendly spaces; specialised therapeutic services for children with developmental problems and psychological counselling for children and family members; orientation and mediation for access to healthcare, kindergarten, and other public services; and peer-to-peer support groups for mothers.
